Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork

My massage treatments combine clinical knowledge of the body with skilled hands-on therapy to help reduce muscular tension, improve movement and support overall wellbeing.

As a physiotherapist with additional massage training, I draw on both clinical understanding and therapeutic bodywork techniques to tailor each session to your individual needs.

Massage can be helpful for:
muscular tension and stiffness
neck, shoulder or back discomfort
recovery from physical strain or exercise
stress and general physical fatigue
postural tension from work or childcare demands

Each treatment is adapted to your comfort level, preferences and goals, ranging from deeper targeted work through to slower, restorative sessions.

My massage treatments are open to clients of all genders, and also include options suitable for pregnancy and postnatal recovery.

Choosing the Right Massage PathwayMassage treatments are offered through three different pathways, depending on your goals and stage of life:

Pregnancy Massage
For clients who are currently pregnant. Pregnancy massage is available during the second and third trimesters.

Clinical & Sports Massage
For general muscular tension, tight or overworked muscles, and targeted massage treatment. These sessions are open to clients of all genders and also suitable for postnatal clients who would like general body massage.

Scar & Visceral Therapy
For treatment focused on scar recovery or abdominal tissue mobility, including C-section scar therapy and visceral work.

If you are currently pregnant, please book Pregnancy Massage, as the other massage pathways are not suitable during pregnancy.

You can read more about each pathway below to help you decide which treatment is most appropriate.

Clinical & Sports Massage

Clinical & Sports Massage focuses on muscular tension and soft tissue restrictions. This pathway is the most appropriate option if you are looking for a targeted massage treatment for tight or overworked muscles.

These treatments are open to clients of all genders.

Sessions may include techniques such as:
  • deep tissue massage
  • trigger point work
  • soft tissue release
  • movement-based muscle release
  • general sports massage for recovery or performance

These techniques can help reduce muscular tension, improve movement and support recovery from postural strain, physical activity, or everyday aches and pains.

Treatments are always adapted to your comfort level and goals, and sessions may focus more on either targeted muscular work or broader relaxation, depending on what feels most helpful for your body.

This pathway also includes postnatal clients who would like general body massage once they have recovered from birth. Where appropriate, treatment may also incorporate gentle scar or abdominal work within a wider massage session.

Clinical & Sports Massage is not suitable during pregnancy, and pregnant clients should instead book a Pregnancy Massage.

Available in 40, 60 or 90 minute sessions.

Scar Therapy & Visceral Therapy

Scar & Visceral Therapy focuses on the mobility and comfort of scar tissue and surrounding abdominal tissues.

Many people initially book this treatment for scar massage, particularly following procedures such as C-section surgery, but treatment may also include gentle visceral techniques that work with the connective tissues of the abdomen.

These techniques can help improve tissue mobility, comfort and overall abdominal function, and are often helpful when scars are affecting movement or creating a sense of tightness through the abdomen.

Where appropriate, treatment may include a combination of scar therapy and gentle visceral techniques. These approaches are always adapted to your comfort level and introduced gradually where helpful.

Many people with conditions such as endometriosis or IBS also find this type of treatment helpful for managing abdominal tension and supporting symptom management.

This treatment is commonly used by postnatal women, particularly following C-section birth.

Scar treatment can begin once the scar is fully healed and at least 6 weeks after surgery, although I usually recommend waiting around 12 weeks post-surgery for the best starting point. Older scars can also respond very well to treatment.

Scar & Visceral Therapy is not suitable during pregnancy.

Sessions are 40 minutes.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage is designed to support the body through the physical changes of pregnancy and is offered during the second and third trimesters.

Massage is contraindicated during the first trimester, so pregnancy massage treatments are available from the second trimester onwards, when they are considered safe and are often most helpful for managing the physical changes and discomforts that can arise during pregnancy.

Treatments are usually performed in comfortable side-lying and long sitting positions, which allow the body to fully relax while keeping both you and your baby safe.

I also have a specialist pregnancy massage bolster that can sometimes allow comfortable face-down positioning. This is not suitable for everyone, but where it is considered appropriate and you would enjoy some belly-down time during the treatment, this option may be available.

Pregnancy massage can help ease common pregnancy-related discomforts such as back pain, pelvic tension and general muscular fatigue.

Available in 60 or 90 minute sessions.

Insurance & Cashback Plans

Some clients have health insurance or workplace cashback plans that allow them to reclaim part of the cost of massage therapy.

Different insurers sometimes require specific wording on receipts, such as sports massage or holistic massage, in order for a claim to be processed.

As I am trained in a range of massage approaches and also practise as a physiotherapist, I am usually able to accurately describe the treatment provided using the terminology required by your insurer, where this reflects the nature of the session.

If you intend to claim through a cashback or insurance scheme, please contact me before your appointment so we can ensure the treatment and documentation are appropriate for your policy.

Please note that invoices will always accurately reflect the treatment provided, and reimbursement decisions are made by your insurer in accordance with the terms of your policy.

Not sure which appointment to choose?

If you are unsure which massage pathway would be most suitable, you are always welcome to
get in touch before booking and I will be happy to guide you.
